CoachMc writes "Louisville Slugger TPX Catalyst - The lightest biggest barrel bat on the market. The bat’s stiff handle and flexible barrel transfer more energy than the trendy, whippy-handle bats touted by other bat makers. The result is more consistent performance from the Louisville Slugger TPX Catalyst™ on the field.
Available in both senior league and youth baseball models, the Catalyst™ uses new X-1 composite technology from Louisville Slugger ® TPX ® that can help any player be the catalyst for their team. Louisville Slugger engineers say the Catalyst bat will not only help players change the outcomes of games but it will change the way they think about baseball bats. Catalyst will no doubt change the mindset in senior league and youth baseball because of its optimum combination of performance and durability.
LOUISVILLE TPX CATALYST SENIOR YOUTH BASEBALL BAT - 10
Unlike flex-handle bats, a stiff handle bat allows batters to “feel the hit,” providing feedback to become a better hitter.
The Catalyst has been approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie Youth Baseball, Pony Baseball, AABC and USSSA. Its stiff handles prevent a loss of energy on off-sweet spot hits.

Since turning its first bat in 1884, Louisville Slugger has set the standard for performance technology at every level of play. Today, Louisville Slugger is raising that standard with the most advanced bat technology it has introduced to date.
That technology has produced the Louisville Slugger TPX Catalyst. It is made from multiple layers of 100 percent aerospace grade graphite which are embedded in a specially designed toughened epoxy resin. Each layer is precisely positioned at an angle determined by Louisville Slugger’s exclusive computer-designed pattern. That’s what makes Catalyst perform so well and also gives it great durability. Everything from the bat design to the equipment used to manufacture the bat was developed by the Louisville Slugger Composites Research & Development Lab. Controlling every aspect of design and manufacturing ensures that every bat is consistently produced to Louisville Slugger’s high quality standards.
